The best resources I could find were outdated paper question banks and high priced banks that were only available on PCs.
Ultimately I wanted a program that operated on my phone, that was affordable, and allowed maximal flexibility in accessing questions and training with others.
I intended this app to be like rounding on a patient and having the attending ask questions - this is the result of that need and intent.How to use:First, use this app to test your knowledge of common and obscure topics in occupational medicine.
Each question should teach you something about the field.
As you progress through the 1100+ questions you should be exposed to nearly every area of the field.
We have included references that can be used to confirm answers and learn more about the subject.Along these lines, each question is identified as to which portion of the board exam that it applies to.
You can use the SCORE page to assess how you are performing sub-topic areas.
Second, this program should be used in residency programs or otherwise to study with others.
When I was a resident our program relied upon the residents to generate questions during board review.
There were many limitations to that system and I wanted to find a better and more systematic way to study together.
I envision that whoever is leading the study effort would generate a random question, tell the group the question number, and each resident enters that question in the FIND A QUESTION area - allowing the entire group to review the same standard questions together and discuss the correct and incorrect answers.
Similarly, residency programs can use the app to track the number of questions that their residents complete as part of their training program metrics and goals.
